Who decides on the grant awards?

Proposals are reviewed by an independent external committee of subject matter experts (SMEs), followed by a final decision by the India Rising Grants Committee, ensuring impartiality and a rigorous selection process.

Can I apply as an individual researcher?

Yes, individual Indian citizens can apply. However, grants are typically disbursed through a host institution (University, NGO, or Company) that manages the funds and infrastructure.

What is the typical funding amount for Seed Grants?

Seed Grants typically range from ₹5 lakhs to ₹25 lakhs, intended to support early-stage, high-potential research and the generation of preliminary data.

Do you accept applications throughout the year?

We primarily operate with fixed call cycles for most grant types. Please check our official portal for the latest submission deadlines for Seed Grants, Fellowships, and Moonshot Grants.

What is the expected timeline for a decision?

The review process, including initial screening, expert review, and committee evaluation, typically takes 4 to 6 months from the submission deadline. We prioritize providing constructive feedback to all applicants.
